INTERREG ITALY-CROATIA 2021-2027 – Standard Project “From remains Of the war to the aRchiTecture of peace in cross-border area of Italy-Croatia“ - “FORTIC“ - ID ITHR0200123

Project FORTIC jointly tackles common territorial challenges:
- lack of Adriatic CB digital solutions for development of joint sustainable tourism products /routes of cultural heritage in the involved territories
- extensive need for exchange of best practice models in creation of common strategies for less- seasonal depending tourism activities
- promotion of green and digital technologies in regarding cultural heritage and sustainable tourism in the CB area
- need for inclusion of innovative and inclusive social models

Considering challenges that involved territories are facing, overall objective of the project is to strength the role of Adriatic CB cultural heritage, recognizing business models of fortifications, in order to promote a sustainable tourism with respect to innovative digital solutions and new inclusive social models which will guarantee development of common territory adjusted to the needs of vulnerable groups and heritage community.

Reaching the objectives will ensure more strategic, coordinated and a sustainable management of tourism in the common area with special emphasis on the role of natural heritage and reduce vulnerability of the territory considering different aspects.

The outputs will be pilot actions that will be testing digital and physical solutions ensuring better access to cultural heritage for a wide spectre of users according to jointly developed solutions.

Outputs will enable better management of the CB territory in sense of developing strategic documents and exchange of best practices according to numerous events that will be organized in the common CB area.

Common approach is crucial because PPs territories are very similar to each other, all PP are acting in very touristic places on the Adriatic coast, so challenges need to be addressed with knowledge that only CB approach can provide.

FORTIC will boost cooperation and promote jointly Adriatic CB area as up-to-date technologically developed and sustainable territory.
